Oral absorption of good (>80%), oral 250mg or 500mg, 1 ~ 2 hours of serum drug concentration reached a peak of 6 g/ml and 12 g/ml respectively.
Intravenous drip of this product 15mg/kg, after every 6 hours drip 7.5mg/kg, plasma drug concentration reached steady state peak concentration of 25 mu g/ml, valley concentration can reach 18 g/ml. This product is widely distributed in the body and can enter the pus of saliva, milk and liver abscess, and can also enter the cerebrospinal fluid (50% of the normal human cerebrospinal fluid can reach the blood). In vivo, it is metabolized by side chain oxidation or combined with glucuronic acid, and 20% of them are not metabolized. Its metabolites also have certain activity. A large amount of metronidazole and its metabolites were excreted by urine (60% to 80% of the total), and a small amount was excreted by feces (6% ~ 15%). T1/2 is about 8 hours.
It is mainly used for the treatment or prevention of systemic or local infections caused by the aforementioned anaerobes, such as the abdominal, digestive, female genital, lower respiratory, skin and soft tissues, bone and joint. It is also effective for septicemia, endocarditis, meningeal infection, and antibiotic induced colitis. Tetanus is often used in combination with Tetanus Antitoxin (TAT). It can also be used for oral anaerobe infection.
